The Walpole High School varsity field hockey team continued its dominance on Thursday afternoon with a convincing 7-0 victory against Framingham.
The Porkers (11-0-1, 8-0-1) entered Thursday’s contest already with a stranglehold on the Bay State Conference title and further making their case for the No. 1 overall seed in the upcoming Division I South playoffs.
Senior captain Sydney Scales potted home a pair of goals 2:08 apart to give Walpole an early 2-0 goal lead, the first coming on the rebound of a penalty corner attempt and the second on a nifty loft shot on a fast break with 23:39 to play.
Scales earned her third point of the contest with 15:15 remaining, this time with an assist as Caroline Whelan tipped home Scales' shot on a penalty corner to make it 3-0. Elizabeth Hinton made it a 4-0 game with 11:04 remaining by hammering home a shot off of a feed from sophomore Natalie Griffin as the Porkers took their four-goal lead into halftime.
Walpole kept its foot on the gas to begin the second half. Scales notched her third of the contest to complete the hat trick and gave the Porkers a 5-0 lead. Walpole would add two more and prevail by the 7-0 final.
Walpole will look to remain unbeaten when the Porkers host Braintree on October 17.
