On Saturday, May 5, a day after DS held its annual junior-senior prom, members of the Dover-Sherborn track and field team were ready to keep the excitement going, but this time the excitement wasn’t on the dance floor. “The Freshman/Sophomore meet is a great showcase for the younger members of the team,” said DS head coach Maura Bennett. “The hard work they’ve been putting in all season can really show.”

And show they did.

The boys 4x100 meter relay team of Aidan Britt, Elliot Hammerness, Elliot Conlow and Nicholas Tuerk finished ninth. In the boys high jump, Conlow placed eighth and fellow sophomore team-mate Ben Williams placed eleventh in the boys javelin throw.

Later in the day, at the prestigious Weston Twilight Invitational, held at two different locations (Weston High, Regis College), the excitement continued. Senior Erik Linden broke his own school record, finishing second in the mile with a time of 4:21.35. Fellow senior Owen Searle placed tenth in the 800-meter run with a personal record time of 1:59.64. Senior Jacob Robin also competed in the 800-meter run.
