A two-alarm conflagration on 7 Sutton Road last Tuesday, January 17, had local fire departments and television news crews scrambling to the scene.
The fire took place around 1:30 p.m. on Sutton Road, which runs between Webster St. and Rt. 135., and necessitated the assistance of firefighters from Dedham, Newton, Wellesley and Westwood in addition to Needham’s force.
By 4 p.m., the blaze was under control. No injuries were reported, though the home itself was said to be beyond recovery due to fire, smoke and water damage.
Needham Fire Chief Dennis Condon reported that a torch had ignited the blaze.
