All veterans are invited to participate, and all town residents are encouraged to show their support in remembering those who have given their lives in defense of their country.

All marchers will assemble at the town garage on Butler Street at 9:30 a.m. and depart at 10:00 a.m.

The march will proceed down North Main Street to the Soldier’s Lot at Pine Hill Cemetery and then to the Peace Monument at the intersection of Routes 16 and 27. Vehicle transportation will be provided for those wishing to ride.

Following the dedications, the parade will proceed to the Sherborn Community Center for refreshments. For additional information, residents are encouraged to contact Mike Kickham (508-655-4607).

The Town of Dover’s 2016 Memorial Day ceremony and parade will be held on Monday, May 30, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Dover Town Hall on the Springdale Avenue side.

Immediately following the ceremony the parade will form on Springdale Avenue. The marchers will parade to the Town Monument and then enter Highland Cemetery for the reading of those Dover veteran’s that died while serving our Country.

After the short service at the Memorial Star and Flag pole the parade will then return to the Town Hall for the raising of those colors.

The organizers of Dover’s Memorial Day ceremony and parade hopes to have a large participation of veterans and their families in attendance, as well as other Town organizations and townspeople.

All are invited to attend and pay tribute to those veterans that have given us the freedoms we have, but are no longer with us. Our thanks goes to The George B. Preston Post 209 of The American Legion for hosting a cookout at the conclusion of the ceremonies for all townspeople.

Again, all are invited to attend and to pay tribute to those veterans that have given us the freedoms we have, but are no longer with us. Remember, Monday, May 30th at 4:00 p.m. Dover Memorial Day Ceremony.
