‘Anne of Green Gables’ coming to DS

On their 10th Anniversary, the Dover-Sherborn Summer Drama Program will proudly present “Anne of Green Gables - The Musical.” With a cast of middle and high school thespians, this classic tale is infused with heartwarming, funny songs and dance. Performances will be held at the Sherborn Community Center on August 23, 24, 25, and 27 at 7 p.m.

The students of the Summer Drama Program work hard all season to craft their talents as actors and singers to bring their community an enjoyable evening of local theater. Many are repeat performers recognizable from previous summer shows such as “Into the Woods,” “Southern Fried Murder,” and “The Addams Family.” Director Scott Walker himself, in fact, played the role of Gilbert at the tender age of 13 and 17.

There are new faces, too, in addition to the repeat performers.

Based on the novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery, “Anne of Green Gables” was officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the longest running musical theatre production in the world.

Tickets for “Anne of Green Gables” are on sale at the Sherborn Market, Dover Market, and at www.ticketstage.com.
