The Medfield Public Library (MPL) strives to offer events for all interests and ages and its adult strategy game time is no exception. This event offers adults a few strategy games to choose from so they can sit down, play and meet new people. While strategy games can seem tricky and overwhelming at first, the community is friendly and helps to make sure everyone has a good time and understands the games.
Several games are offered but Rummikub is the fan favorite. Rummikub is a game all about matching numbers and colors to become the first player with no tiles left. The game can quickly turn competitive, and this meeting definitely saw the competitive side. Players helped each other find the most helpful moves and learn the game as they went along. The games are low steaks and high energy making a welcoming environment for everyone.
The library hosts these meetings monthly and has a few patrons who come by every time. This creates a wonderful atmosphere where friends are aiming to outdo each other. Rummikub is by far the most often played game, and most players know the rules. New players are always welcome and can be taught through gameplay how to win. Players can pick a new game if they aren’t feeling Rummikub and are willing to help others learn.
These events are a great way for the adult crowd to make friends and play some board games. The strategies involved are a great way to keep brains active and focus on patterns most people don’t see every day. Games like Rummikub are amazing for all ages and quick to pick up, especially for those who recognize patterns.
The Medfield Library offers strategy and other adult-only game nights monthly, which are always an amazing time. They are a great way to get involved and meet people with shared interests.
