The Dover Foundation presented their spring show, “The Pirates of Penzance” this past weekend.
One of the Dover Foundation goals is to bring together community and this year was no different, with a huge range of people involved, including middle school students, their parents and lots of other members of the community from all walks of life.
Directed by Bruce Von Rosenvinge, the show received great reviews, with audiences commenting that it was the best show they had seen from The Dover Foundation, with some new to the Foundation’s shows exclaiming that they were amazed by the exceptionally high standard of the show.
Many did not expect such an elaborate show from a community theatre group. “The Pirates of Penzance” is a rare production for community theaters to put on, because of the work involved in preparing the show.
In addition to bringing together the community through theatre, the Dover Foundation also raises money through the shows for graduating Dover students.
The Dover Foundation hopes to announce their 2017 show soon, and invites everyone interested to get in touch and find out how they can get involved.
