Walpole Day will be returning to town on Saturday, May 14. The popular event will feature a number of activities and vendors, all celebrating Walpole, and will run until 3 p.m.

The festivities will begin at noon with the annual town parade. The route will start at the high school, head down Common Street, and make right turns on East and School Streets, respectively.

Following the parade, the event will kick off in earnest in the fields and parking lots behind Town Hall and the Recreation Department. Activities will include a rock climbing wall, blood drive for Children’s Hospital, free child identification program, electronic recycling area, youth band performances, and a massive inflatable “kid zone.” The ever-popular Duck Race, sponsored by the Walpole swim team, will conclude the day at 3 p.m.

Patrick Shield, Walpole’s Recreation Director remarked: “With the addition of new elements and features, this year promises to be like no Walpole Day this town has ever seen before, with a number of activities that appeal to every member of the family.”

“We’ve worked hard as a department to make sure this year’s Walpole Day blended together a mix of past elements that the community has enjoyed with new activities to keep people excited about this annual tradition of celebrating all things Walpole,” said Program Coordinator Arielle Carney.

“It’s going to be an amazing day.”
