Play ball!
The rain held off long enough for Needham Little League’s annual Opening Day on Sunday, May 1. The event was attended by hundreds of people, including the stars of the show: Needham’s Little League baseball and softball players.
After the traditional parade from Green’s Field to DeFazio Park, Jim Rice and Wally the Green Monster were on hand for the first pitch of the year.
Refreshments were served, a selection of activities (including face painting, speed-pitch and a dunk tank) were available, a silent auction was held, and the first games of the season were played.
Needham’s Little League program will run through the summer. For more information, please consult www.needham baseball.com.
