Medfield girls basketball staying active through TikTok

Annie (left) and Maggie (right) McCarthy showcased their basketball skills and dance moves on TikTok this past week in an attempt to stay active during quarantine.

With the stay-at-home order still in effect due to COVID-19, local athletes have been forced to think outside the box on ways to stay active and interact with others.

Past, present and future members of Medfield High School girls basketball took to social media throughout the past week to showcase their skills. The athletes utilized the increasingly popular app TikTok to record videos of themselves doing ball-handling drills to the sound of Drake's new song, "Tootie Slide."

Each video was posted to the Medfield girls basketball Twitter account and retweeted by Medfield Athletics. Among the athletes who submitted a video were former Medfield star and current Harvard guard Maggie McCarthy, as well as current Medfield varsity athletes Annie McCarthy and Kate Olenik.
