Summer Sounds sizzles out

The final Summer Sounds concert happened this past Thursday, August 31st, at the Bellforge Arts Center. Throughout the summer, an array of amazing bands have taken the stage to perform on Thursday nights for all to enjoy.

This final concert included performances by Dino Gala and Cape Crush. These two bands are local from Massachusetts and play Emo/Indie Rock music. The overall vibe of the event was immaculate as people crowded the lawn with blankets and chairs.

While there was a slight breeze in the air, the overall weather for the event could not have been more perfect. Making sure to pack their sweatshirts and hoodies, family and friends gathered together to enjoy the last Thursday night concert of the summer. As an added bonus, there was no need to worry about bringing food since a food truck was there on site.

After enjoying some delicious barbeque food, one could then indulge in some fantastic ice cream from the truck next door. Once all the bellies were full, you could listen to some incredible music while playing some really fun lawn games. For the little ones, The Makers Club set up an arts and crafts station where kiddos could create some glitter apples, pencil holders, and DIY signs.

There was certainly no shortage of smiles and laughs seen throughout the Bellforge and it has been this way all summer! One of the Bellforge Staff Members, Keba, went on to state, “Today is very well attended for the last concert. It’s absolutely perfect weather so we are very excited. It was a really good turnout throughout the entire summer. It always depended on the weather, but overall the turnout was great, even better than last year when we had them on Saturday’s.”

In terms of upcoming events, the Bellforge has a full line up ahead. The next event will be held on Saturday, September 9th, from 3:30 to 7pm and will include a performance by Buffalo Tom. Later on in October, they will hold their Culturefest as well as the very popular Oktoberfest.
