MFi Angel Run this Sunday

MFi Angel Run preparations are in their final stages, including planning for the arrival of Santa. The Medfield Foundation is pleased to announce that Santa Claus is registered for the December 3 MFi Angel Run. Santa will make his grand entrance by special delivery thanks to the Medfield Fire Department at noon on Sunday, December 3.

Another special treat at this year’s race is the opportunity for sleigh rides on a vintage sleigh kindly loaned by Medfield resident Dick Judge. For a small donation, attendees will travel a scenic loop around the high school campus in the beautiful sleigh. Proceeds will support the Angel Run cause of helping Medfield residents in need.

The pre-race festivities will include the singing of the National Anthem by Zoey Pollard. Members of the Angel Run committee and Medfield Foundation board chose Pollard, a Medfield high school sophomore and member of the chorus, jazz, and a cappella singing groups, from among several talented entries.

For anyone who didn’t preregister, runners can sign up on race day, December 3, beginning at 11 a.m. The registration fee is $30 and the Angel Run shirts will be for sale in very limited quantities. The event is truly a community-wide effort, from the 1,250 and counting runners to the many additional volunteers who bake, direct traffic, cheer participants, decorate the course, bag and deliver the commemorative shirts and clean up the route after the event. There are always last minute volunteer assignments to fill. Visit MedfieldFoundation.org for details. The 12th Annual MFi Angel Run begins at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, at the Medfield High School parking lot, followed by the post-run party in the Blake Middle School cafeteria.
