Medfield Foundation gives April update

Medfield Foundation has released it's April update. The COVID-19 crisis is having its own effects in Medfield. As of April 23, Medfield has seen 23 confirmed cases of novel coronavirus, with 14 recoveries. Beyond those catching this disease, many friends and neighbors have been impacted through job losses or other hardships.

As the local foundation serving the town, the Medfield Foundation, Inc. (MFi) launched the Medfield COVID-19 Relief Fund in March to assist with those individuals who find themselves experiencing significant financial challenges caused by the COVID-19 public health emergency.

To date, more than 140 individuals and organizations have contributed to the Medfield COVID-19 Relief Fund. The Foundation continues to receive requests from local residents experiencing financial hardships, and anticipates this will continue into the coming months as this crisis stretches on. Through the generous donations received, MFi has been able to help.

MFi has also sent special thanks to the Medfield Lions Club, Medfield Home Committee, and Medfield Employers and Merchants Organization, Inc. (M.E.M.O.)

Additionally, a local business, Kate Image Photography Studio, has created the Front Steps Project Medfield, with proceeds benefiting the Medfield Foundation Medfield COVID-19 Relief Fund. Katie Ntasios, owner of Kate Image, donates her time to take “socially distanced” family photos to document the experience. Families that participate are encouraged to make a donation to the Medfield COVID-19 Relief Fund. For more information or to schedule a photo, visit www.kateimage.com.

In order to meet the immediate and future local need, it is MFi's hope that additional generous donors will join the Foundation to support the good work being done during these challenging and uncertain times. Information on how to donate can be found online at www.medfieldfoundation.org/give. Individuals who would like to send a check may make it payable to Medfield Foundation and mail it to Medfield Foundation, PO Box 745, Medfield, MA 02052. All distributions from the fund are made after review by local social service professionals.

Individuals who have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak, and whose family is in need of emergency assistance, MFi wants to help. Visit www.medfieldfoundation.org/covid-19 to submit an online request form to receive support. Someone will follow up directly. Assistance comes in many forms, including financial support. All information is kept strictly confidential.
