HESSCO seeks Meals on Wheels drivers

HESSCO Elder Services is appealing to Medfield, Norfolk, Sharon, Walpole and Westwood residents for volunteers interested in becoming drivers for its Meals on Wheels program. This program, which delivers prepared meals to homebound elders, is in search of volunteers to contribute approximately one hour per day to elders who would have difficulties getting their own meals otherwise. Drivers volunteer for about one hour from 11:00 a.m. to noon delivering meals. Volunteers can choose the day(s) of the week that work best for them.

Volunteers are also needed for approximately one hour to help in the kitchens packaging the meals in the towns of Norwood and Walpole.

HESSCO’s goal is to help keep elders in their own home for as long as possible. Providing a meal, a wellness check-in and a friendly face each day is just one way to accomplish this goal.

If interested in helping, contact Susan at (781-784-4944, x251) or info@HESSCO.org.
