Visitors to the Medfield Library from March 16-19 received a floral treat. Throughout the library, Medfield student artwork, accompanied by floral arrangements inspired by the pieces, dotted the space. The brightening of the library was the result of Art’N Bloom.
Art'N Bloom is an annual event, started in 1999, run by the Medfield Garden Club in collaboration with the MHS Visual Arts Department. The Medfield Public Library hosts this four-day art and floral event every March during regular library hours.
Teachers from the MHS Visual Arts Department (Kate Jones, Meghan Drew, Christopher Faust, and Mary Shiff) select artwork from their students. These can be many different mediums - charcoal, colored pencil, watercolor, acrylic, photographs, mixed media or sculptures. The works then receive accompanying floral interpretations, which are fashioned by members of the Medfield Garden Club.
It's a wonderful opportunity for students' work to be viewed within the community.
The Garden Club encourages new members, as well as experienced members, to participate. The results are beautiful floral interpretations displayed alongside creative artwork - and all in the heart of Medfield.
