A family’s guide to February break

While some families are going away for vacation next week, others are having a staycation during February break. Rather than sitting at home, fill your week with a variety of free and fun local activities. From Dover to Walpole, there are many exciting activities happening next week to keep children of all ages occupied and entertained.

For Little Kids:
● Mr. Vinny Puppet Show – Friday, 2/21 at Dover Town Library. A delightful puppet show sure to entertain young children and their families.
● Music at the Blissful – Friday, 2/21 at Needham Free Public Library, 10am. A fun and interactive music session perfect for little ones to enjoy.
● Big Ryan’s Tall Tales – Saturday, 2/22 at Sherborn Public Library, 11am. Enjoy engaging and humorous storytelling from Big Ryan.

For Children:
● Buildwave – Thursday, 2/20 at Dover Town Library, 3pm. A hands-on building and engineering event.
● Strega Mama Storytime – Wednesday, 2/19 at Sherborn Public Library, 10:30am. A magical storytelling session that brings books to life.
● Movie Matinee: The Amazing Maurice – Thursday, 2/20 at Sherborn Public Library, 10:30am. A fun family-friendly film screening.
● Big Ryan’s Tall Tales – Saturday, 2/22 at Sherborn Public Library, 11am. Enjoy engaging and humorous storytelling from Big Ryan.
● Staycation Crafternoon – Tuesday, 2/18 at Medfield Public Library. A creative afternoon of crafting for children.
● Learn Ukulele with Julie Stepanek – Thursday, 2/20 at Westwood Public Library. A beginner-friendly ukulele lesson.
● Family Game & Puzzle Night – Wednesday, 2/19 at Walpole Public Library, 4pm. Enjoy board games and puzzles with family and friends.
● Book Bingo – Thursday, 2/20 at Walpole Public Library, 10:30am. A fun twist on the classic game with a bookish theme.
● Toe Jam Winter Variety Show – Saturday, 2/22 at Walpole Public Library, 11am. A fun, interactive show full of music and laughter.
● Vacation Day Crafts – Wednesday, 2/19 at Needham Free Public Library, 3pm. A creative afternoon for kids.

For Teens:
● Makerspace Open for Teens – Tuesday-Thursday at Medfield Public Library. A place for teens to get creative and tinker with hands-on projects.
● Wizarding World of Westwood – Wednesday, 2/19 at Westwood Public Library, 6:30pm. A magical evening for Harry Potter fans.
● Family Game & Puzzle Night – Wednesday, 2/19 at Walpole Public Library, 4pm. A great opportunity for teens to play and socialize.
● Wicked Movie Screening – Thursday, 2/20 at Needham Free Public Library, 2pm. A special showing of Wicked for teens.
● In the Garden Day Library Workshop 101 – Saturday, 2/22 at Needham Free Public Library. A hands-on gardening workshop for teens 15+.

For All Ages:
● Interactive Movie: The Wizard of Oz – Friday, 2/21 at Westwood Public Library, 2pm. Open to all for a fun, immersive film experience.
● Cast of Robin Meet & Greet – Wednesday, 2/19 at Walpole Public Library, 10:30am. A great event for families.
● Movie Morning: Robin Hood – Friday, 2/21 at Walpole Public Library, 10:30am. An adventure movie for all to enjoy.
● WHS Tri-M Music Performance – Friday, 2/21 at Walpole Public Library, 2pm. A showcase of local student musicians.

With so many free events happening, February break is the perfect time to visit your local library and enjoy fun activities for all ages. All of these events require no registration, so they are available to all. Each library is offering a variety of other programs that require registration, so be sure to visit the library website to see what other events are offered this week.
