The Sherborn Library has settled into its temporary home across Sanger Street at the Sherborn Community Center, where it will remain during the construction phase of the library’s exciting renovation and expansion project.
Patrons will find the library comfortably installed in the ‘old school room’ on the first floor of the Sherborn Community Center. There, a wide range of new releases and a collection of children’s books are available for patrons. Computers are set up for patron use and museum passes are available. While much of the library’s collection will be held in storage during construction, patrons can continue to rely on the Minuteman Library Network to locate and request materials. The library will offer as much programming for both children and adults as possible. In its new home, the library has resumed regular hours.
Library Trustee Chris Kenney complimented the Library staff for managing the big move over the holidays. “The staff has done an outstanding job making the first floor of the Community Center an inviting spot where residents of all ages can enjoy library services during construction.” He added, “The Library Building Committee has worked tirelessly over the past year – it’s great to see the logistics and staging plans under way.” The current expectation is that the renovated library will be ready to re-open late December 2017 or early January 2018.
