In honor of Halloween, the Sherborn Library hosted a kids' Halloween costume parade, held both inside and outside the library. Children ages 0 to 5, along with their guardians, were invited to wear their favorite costumes and practice trick-or-treating before the big night.
Costumes spotted included a cat, bulldozer, cow, Elmo, mermaid, the Incredible Hulk, ladybug, pumpkin, butterfly, fairy, and more. The library's staff joined in the fun, with librarians dressed as a cat, frog, butterfly, unicorn, and even a jar of relish.
The parade featured five stops for children to collect treats and stickers, with three stops inside the library and two outside in front of Sherborn Town Hall and the Sherborn Police Department. Town Hall employees and police officers greeted the children in costume, eager to hand out treats.
Police dog Officer West joined the event dressed as a prisoner, sporting a shirt with "Bad to the Bone" on the back. Children and their guardians flocked to Officer West, who appeared to enjoy the attention.
After the parade, families continued to take photos and explore the library. Children’s Librarian Jennifer Power led the parade with a big smile, sharing her enthusiasm for the event and her love of seeing children dressed up for Halloween.
Both librarians and attendees appeared to enjoy the parade, with little ones leaving with bags of candy and stickers, some even adorning their cheeks with the colorful decorations.
