A handful of students in the Dover-Sherborn school district were recently selected for the MMEA Treble Chorus.

Pine Hill fifth graders Caitlin Monaghan and Julia Martin practiced and performed “My Country Tis of Thee” a capella, with just a starting pitch. The also had to sing a vocal exercise to show vocal range and ability.

Finally, they had to write a brief paragraph about why they wanted to be selected for the Treble Chorus

Chickering fifth graders Annabelle Schmidt, Ava Morvillo, Shannon Day and Makeilla Pires were also selected, as was sixth grader Bethany Correll from the Dover-Sherborn Middle School.

Students received their music this past week, and will be preparing for a group rehearsal on February 27, as well as a rehearsal and performance at the MMEA Conference in Boston on March 12.

Their conductor will be the esteemed Rollo Dilworth, well known in the choral world for his compositions and arrangements for choral groups.
