Fright and fun at Medfield Public Library

The Medfield Public Library transformed into a house of fun and frights with their annual Haunted House!

Presented by the Teen Advisory Board, the haunted house was full of young volunteers done to the nines in spooky makeup and costumes, giving a very varied truly haunted house.

The Teen Advisory Board also hosted a lights on hour from four to five for the younger kids who couldn’t handle that much of a fright. Thanks to the Friends of the library it was free admission.

Going down the stairs adorned in orange lights and cobwebs, we were met by our guide, a real estate agent hoping to sell this haunted house to us. The lower floor of the library was covered in cobwebs, scary signs, and filled with beings to jump out and scare you. A gorilla, left behind by the former residents, terrorized a young girl.

Then, down a hallway, masked people jumped from behind bookshelves. We were led past rooms holding a witch with two victims trying to escape and a cannibal feast. A masked person sent their minion after the group, and we were invited to a clown birthday party. There was poisoned tea and the woman who drank from it, and a girl with voodoo dolls and her victims she held hostage. The whole time a masked man swept the floor, always appearing around corners when you least expected it. Leading us out we saw the gorilla again, and down the hallway two girls walked out of body bags upside down on their hands and feet.

The night ended with the house of terrors being sold for the low price of your immortal soul! It was a fun and frightening experience for adults and kids alike! The teen volunteers did an amazing job and it was a varied and creative haunted house.

If you missed it this year, be sure to mark your calendars to experience it next year.
