Eight-year-old Westwood resident Zac Ventola participated in this year's One Mission Buzz Off, which was held at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro on June 5.
Zac raised nearly $3,400 by redeeming cans, selling his old toys, having a lemonade and cookies drive-thru stand in his driveway and by making hundreds of fun buttons to give out to donors at school and when collecting outside the Westwood Roche Brothers.
Hundreds of Westwood residents helped Zac reach his goal.
The One Mission Buzz Off is an annual fundraising event hosted by One Mission, a pediatric cancer foundation that helps to support cancer patients and their families.
Unlike many cancer charities, which raise funds to help support long-term cancer research, One Mission is dedicated to providing programs and services to help support cancer patients as they deal with the struggles of their diagnosis.
The programs and services One Mission provides helps to lift the spirits of patents and their families, help the healing and recovery process, and makes the lives of cancer patients more livable.
Funds raised through the One Mission Buzz Off support One Mission’s various projects, which include the One Mission Dec My Room hospital room redecoration program, music and art therapy, birthday parities and holiday celebrations, movie nights, patient outings, parking passes, support programs and more.
Donations can continue to be made until July 1st at www.onemissionbuzzoff.org/patsfanzac.
