On July 20, Hale will be hosting a fundraising swim-a-thon. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Noanet Pond at Membership Beach in Westwood. Members and non-members alike are encouraged to join.
The event is being held in honor of longtime staff member, Julia Brune. While at Hale, Julia transformed Membership Beach into a unique and extremely popular program that offers of wide variety of structured activities and events for all ages. Julia’s efforts to make Hale a wonderful place are evident all over the reservation, but no more so than at Membership Beach.
The swim-a-thon will have various heats with 15 swimmers each lasting 30 minutes. Each participant is asked to raise a minimum of $100 in support of Hale’s programs. Interested parties may sign up at www.halereservation.org/programs/upcoming-events/.
After the swim-a-thon, participants and their families are invited to enjoy a showing of “Moana” on Membership Beach.
