Westwood resident and student movie director Brendan Egan premiered his first movie at the Dedham Community Theatre on Saturday, June 30. The movie, which was written by Brendan when he was 14 year old, is titled “Collapse.”
The film follows the lives of three kids who lose a beloved father during the events of 9/11, and how their lives entered a state of collapse before coming to terms and redemption. The 20 minute movie was filmed almost exclusively in Westwood, Norwood and surrounding areas, and has been supported by local businesses.
The movie is unique in that is was fully scoped, coordinated, filmed, made up, lit and directed by local teenagers. The movie has been entered into a number of student film festivals and will also be made available later in the year on WestCat local television.
