Wellesley Wonderful Weekend was a big success this year, bringing together community members for a weekend filled with events for all ages. Members of the community came out in droves, attending the Pancake Breakfast, visiting the Wheels of Wellesley Car Show, making Art in the Park, taking historical tours around town and stopping in to open house visits at the Wellesley Municipal Plant, Fire Station, and Police Station. Weather predictions called for rain, but Mother Nature gave a reprieve and clear skies prevailed.
The two main attractions for the weekend were the 48th annual Wellesley Veterans Day Parade and picnic and fireworks in the park. The parade marched through town on Saturday in honor of the many brave and dedicated men and women who served in our military. This year, the parade theme was “Historic Wellesley.” There were several community service awards and special appreciation awards given out to local individuals and businesses that have provided services to the town and community.
Many local businesses and community members along with the town donated time and money to fund the parade and fireworks, making Wellesley Wonderful Weekend possible. For those interested in supporting Wellesley Wonderful Weekend visit www.wellesleyweekend.com or info@wellesleyparade.org.
