Postcomers hold holiday party

[ccfic caption-text format="plaintext"]

On a frigid Winter evening, what could spread warmth and good cheer better than a gathering of Wellesley Postcomers at the beautiful home of Helen Stewart, for a celebration party to usher in the holiday season?

Food, friendship, fun, and festive decorations added to high spirits of the fifty-five members who enjoyed the evening, during which more than $800 was raised for the organization’s donation to The Friendly Aid Society of Wellesley, to send children to summer camp. For the fundraiser, 18 items had been donated by local merchants. This is the singular effort the organization makes each year for a selected worthy cause in the town of Wellesley.

Wellesley Postcomers is a women’s organization that has been bringing local women together to meet new friends, and enjoy a variety of activities. Each month, Postscripts, a newsletter sent out by Postscripts editor, Andrea Jasper, informs members of the once-a-month luncheon with a guest speaker at a local restaurant. The newsletter lists birthdays, and announces where each of the three book clubs will be meeting. In addition, it informs members about the several bridge groups, the day trips, movies, and handiwork group.

Wellesley residents curious about Postcomers membership may contact Marie Gassenheimer, membership chairman, at (781-235-1475).

Pam Grignaffini, Chairman of the holiday event, holds one of the prizes.
