Wellesley Middle School Brooks Brothers and Song Sisters choral groups visited the State House last week to perform several pieces from their upcoming spring concert. On hand were Representative Alice Peisch and Senator Richard Ross along with Boston community members and State House workers who enjoyed listening to the concert performed on the steps of the rotunda. The students, led by their teacher, Lauren Connors, and accompanied by Valerie Stark, performed beautifully, filling the halls of the State House with their music.

Weeks of preparation led up to the State House trip, with students choosing which songs to perform and making their own arrangements to popular songs. Several students performed solos during the musical pieces and others provided musical backup on guitar. The level of maturity of their performance belied their young age and wowed those in attendance.

For those who could not attend the State House performance, there will be one more opportunity to hear these talented students perform at their Spring Choral Concert on June 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the WMS auditorium.
