Walpole set for Memorial Day

Memorial Day will be held on May 29 and starts at noon near the flag pole at the Common. The program lasts about 30-40 minutes.

VD1Members of the Veterans Committee and Walpole’s local Representatives will speak. WWII Veterans Bob Moody and Henry Scanzio will read the names of the deceased veterans we have lost this year, and members of the Post 5188 Auxiliary will place a wreath at the Memorial of Fallen Veterans.

The 182nd INF supporting the day with military vehicles from Operation Iraqi Freedom. Walpole High School will have its full band present to play both before and during the event.

Following the observance, Walpole VFW Post 5188 will host a barbecue - all are welcome to attend.
