Nearly 500 young track and field athletes from all over the Northeastern USA met over the weekend of July 20-21 to compete in the 29th annual Needham Youth Classic. Sponsored by the Needham Youth Track Club, this meet is the largest open youth track meet on the east coast and featured 12 running and 8 field events for children ages 2-14. As part of a meet tradition, all children walked away with an award – ribbon, medal, or trophy. Top finishers shared in the 200 trophies, and 1100 medals that were distributed.
Rhode Island’s CLCF Panthers won the team competition, with Needham Youth Track Club in second and Saugus Sachems third.
