Sarah Parrish, a fifth grader at Pine Hill Elementary School in Sherborn, qualified for the XCEL Gold Gymnastic State Competition held Saturday, April 30 at Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough.
She placed first on vault, fourth on floor and seventh on beam, finishing 3rd all-around in the state for her age division. XCEL is an alternative USA Gymnastics Competitive Program.
There are five divisions: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Sarah practices at Gym Express in Natick.
