Following a tough 4-0 loss to Medway on January 4 and a postponement of their game against Ashland on January 7 due to snow, the Dover-Sherborn High School varsity boys hockey team got back on a winning note with an 8-3 victory over Bellingham last Monday to improve to 4-3-0 on the season.
Senior Joe Paolatto led the way for the Raiders offensively, potting three goals in the winning effort. Along with Paolatto’s hat trick, DS was also led by junior forward Cole Condon (two goals), sophomore forward Max Tjen (one goal, one assist), and senior forward Kelvin Donoghue (one goal, two assists).
The Raiders jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead over the Blackhawks with goals from Tjen and senior captain and defenseman Johnny Schroeder coming less than six minutes into the contest. Bellingham fought back to cut the deficit to one at the first intermission, but the Raiders turned it on in the second period, pulling ahead 5-2 at the end of two thanks to two goals by Paolatto and one from Condon.
DS entered period three determined to put away the Blackhawks and to get back to their winning ways, and that is exactly what the Raiders where able to do with Condon and Donoghue adding goals to make it 7-2 before Paolatto netted his third of the game late in the period to record the hat trick.
At the time of print, the Raiders are scheduled to return to the ice on January 18 at Westwood, followed by a visit from Hopkinton on January 21.
