Science wins at Medfield’s MCPE Fall Ball

On Saturday night, science was the big winner as the Medfield community gathered at Gillette Stadium for Medfield Coalition for Public Education’s (MCPE’s) Fall Ball. This year’s capstone fundraising event had a special focus: to bring Science Museum programs to each class from kindergarten through 12th grade. A blustery night outdoors didn’t stop almost 600 friends and school administrators from coming out to help make this dream a reality. Students from all five of Medfield’s public schools will enjoy these Science Museum programs in the 2018-2019 school year.

Under a ceiling of twinkling lights and balloons, guests danced and enjoyed each other’s good company; the night was over almost too quickly. Guests took part in a photo booth with colorful props and won prizes in a “Good Egg/Bad Egg” contest featuring gifts donated by local businesses. Attendees made additional donations to fund the special Science Museum programs, and many who could not attend contributed online. The Fall Ball generated almost $50,000, with approximately $13,500 donated specifically to fund Science Museum visits. The night’s success would not have been possible without the generous support of MCPE’s corporate sponsors, the broader Medfield community, DJ Bill Finn, Chris and Patti Allen who provided lighting, and the MCPE Board.

Those unable to attend the event can continue make donations to bring innovative programs to the Medfield Public schools by visiting the MCPE website, medfieldcoalition.org.
