Medfielders enjoy summer reading social

The Medfield Public Library recently bid farewell to summer with a congratulations to all who were involved in this year's summer reading program. Adult Services and Programming Librarian Bri Ozanne, as well as Head of Children’s Services Bernadette Foley were impressed by the attendance and signups -- over two hundred participants enjoyed summer reading this year, ranging in age from infants to adults.

But while much of the summer's special programming focused on the community's children, the library staff crafted a special celebration for their End of Summer Social: an adults-only party for participants in the program. Medfield readers in the 21-plus age bracket spent time by the gazebo and enjoyed beer, wine and juice in the evening. Refreshments were provided as book recommendations were happily given and received by those who wanted to share a must-read for the season. Literary trivia was also a big hit on the evening as participants made their way back into the Dailey Room to compete in teams.

Readers will be happy to know that events and celebrations are year-round at the Medfield Public Library. The Friends 2022 Membership Drive is happening now, and plans are in the works for new programs. Get involved by stopping by the library or visiting www.medfieldpubliclibrary.org.
