Seniors were in for a special Christmas treat on Sunday, December 10th as the Medfield Lions hosted their annual Christmas Party at The Center in Medfield. Everyone gathered in their very festive Christmas apparel to enjoy a delicious lunch served by Basil Restaurant while delighting in the company of one another.
The Center was beautifully decorated for this festive event, warmly welcoming everyone who entered. Poinsettias were perfectly placed on every table and a stunning Christmas tree could be found in the corner of the room. Before taking their seats, seniors were welcome to enjoy cheese and crackers that were set up along each side of the room.
Shortly after noon, a fresh cup of butternut squash soup was served to each senior at their seats. After they enjoyed their soup, it was time for their delicious lunch meal of pasta primavera and chicken parmesan. Lions Club members passed out each meal to every table, making sure everyone had something to eat and their drinks were full.
Once everyone was finished with lunch, it was time to indulge in some incredible Christmas cookies donated by the Medfield Women’s Auxiliary. The members beautifully wrapped up the cookies to be presented at each table and the seniors sure did love them. Throughout the entirety of this event, seniors were able to enjoy an incredible performance by musician and singer Sean Fullerton.
Towards the end of the event, a giant check was given to the Friends of Medfield Seniors (FOSI) by the Medfield Lions Club. King Lion himself, Mark Geraigery, presented the check to FOSI President Bob Heald. This check will help seniors put on different events throughout the year and they could not have been more grateful to receive it.
When talking about the significance of this event, Medfield Lions Club member and Needham Bank Vice President Marjorie Cappucci stated that she absolutely loves doing this event every year. “We do this every year for our seniors because we love them,” Cappucci stated, “and we see how much they enjoy this party. We had another great turnout this year which we are super happy about. It’s a feel-good thing for us Lions. We just love it.”
It can be said with ease that these seniors hope for another great Christmas party this time next year!
