After several weeks of planning, the Medfield Lions Club teamed up with the Friends of Seniors Inc. (FOSI) to host Medfield’s eighth annual Chowder Fest on Saturday, November 5, at the Center at Medfield.
The Lions and FOSI were quick to thank the eight local restaurateurs/markets who made the fundraiser a success: Craig Neubecker of Nosh and Grog, Tommy McGue of Basils Restaurant, Steve Slesar of Noon Hill Grill, Josh Foley of Avenue, John Shay of Shaws, William Ferranti ofIce House Restaurant at the Kingsbury Club, Janet O’Connor of Roches Market/Brothers Marketplace, Briana Musto of Primavera. Out-of-this-world, delicious rolls were provided by Dan Freedman of Blue Moon Bagel Café and Big Y Markets provided the soft drinks. An additional special thanks was extended to COA Director Roberta Lynch, whose continuing support makes the Chowder Fest a running success.
Event Coordinator Lion Tony Centore commented that “This year, we increased the number of vendors to eight and Medfield came out in force. The local community enjoys this annual event and we served over 190 people, and generated over $2,000, including a Lions donation of $500 to support the good work of FOSI.”
Bob Heald, FOSI member, said the funds raised will go toward the FOSI Challenge. The “Best Chowder 2016” winner goes to Tommy McGue of Basil - now a four time winner.
