Members of the community enjoyed a warm summer evening and the musical stylings of the Keith Curbow Studio Band last Thursday as part of the Medfield Summer Concert Series.

The band performed for hundreds of area listeners, who joined them on the lawn behind the gazebo next to the library.

Young children ran around enjoying the many inflatable beach balls that were being tossed around. People were sitting on blankets and lawn chairs, eating pizza and other delicious food. It was a perfect way to enjoy the warm summer evening.

Kevin Shebertes, who has lived in Medfield for around 24 years, was in attendance with his grandkids. “I have my three grandkids here running around,” he said. “They love it. Good weather and a good time.”

Elizabeth Waters was one of the musical performers - she sang with Keith Curbow and the band as they played several songs. “I think this is a really important thing where people can get together and listen to live music outside. It’s good to be a part of that. I’m grateful that people want me to do this kind of stuff,” Waters said.

Russ Hallisey is the treasurer of the Medfield Employers & Merchants Organization (MEMO), which helps runs the summer concerts. Hallisey knows that the summer concerts have become integral to the social scene in downtown Medfield during the summers.

“We have a lot of people who are staying in town more [for the summers], so they’re coming to enjoy this concert,” said Hallisey. “Medfield has become a real social downtown place. This is one of the events that [townspeople] come to. It’s very family oriented.”

The summer concert series will continue this evening. More information about the upcoming concerts can be found at www.medfieldmemo.org.
