The public is invited to an opening reception featuring art work by artist Catherine Wollak (1931-2015) at Medfield TV on April 28 from 6 – 8 p.m. Medfield TV is located at 18 N. Meadows Road. Wollak’s work will be on view through August. Medfield TV is open Monday – Friday from 10 – 5 p.m., but visitors are asked to call for an appointment.
Catherine Wollak’s painting career spanned several decades. Better known as “Wildwings” by her adopted Abenaki nation, common themes in her work include landscapes, western scenes and portraits of Native Americans. Wollak began to lose her eyesight to Macular degeneration in her fifties, but continued to paint with impressive detail using a magnifying glass. Wollak’s work is in many personal collections and has been shown in galleries throughout New England.
Upon a promise made by her daughter Yvonne, Catherine Wollak’s art work is shown for viewing and purchase. For more information, contact Yvonne Wollak at (508-359-6000) or ylw2@verizon.net.
