Goats and Giggles on the green

It was a gorgeous day for goats last Wednesday, as many folks gathered outside at Dover Town Library (DTL) for their first ever “Goats and Giggles” program from 10am-12pm. The event was a drop-in, so anyone interested was free to swing by at any time within the two hour slot.

Blankets, lawn chairs, hula hoops and a colorful parachute were spread across the grassy area adjacent to the library entrance, as many locals stopped by to check out the main attraction: adorable, fuzzy, baby goats brought by Chip-In Farm and Farmer’s Helpers from Bedford, MA. The children seemed entranced by the adorable kids, and took turns petting and sitting with them.

“Hard to say who loves the little cuties more,” said one mom from inside the goat enclosure, “me or my daughter!”

The event was the first of its kind for DTL, but hopefully not the last. “I’ve been keeping track,” said a nearby librarian. “We’ve already had 150 people come, and we’re only an hour in. It’s been a great morning.”

DTL has many wonderful events each month. For a full list, visit dovertownlibrary.org.
