On Saturday, February 15th, Rockets participated in Division 1 Central/Metro Section tournament held at Malden High School.

Four Needham wrestlers qualified for the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Division 1 State Wrestling Tournament.  Wrestling at 126 pounds, junior Nathan Taub placed 1st in D1 Central/Metro section. Junior Captain Daniel Burdin placed 2nd in the section at 175 pounds. Wrestling at 120 pounds, sophomore Baysangur Imakaev placed 3rd in D1 Central/Metro section and junior Max Sherer placed 4th wrestling at 138 pounds.

MIAA Division 1 State Tournament was held on February 21-22 at North Andover High School with wrestlers from 47 local high schools. All the Rockets wrestlers faced tough competition and fought hard. Although none of our wrestlers are moving into All States, we did have one wrestler who was able to move to placement rounds in the States. Sophomore Nathan Taub finished the season ranked number 8 in the Division 1 in the state in 126 pounds weight class.

All wrestlers will be returning next year for another great year of wrestling. We are very optimistic about the team and look forward to the next wrestling season.
