Maureen Obey will be holding a solo show called “Through My Eyes” at the Main Library during the month of May. Maureen is an active member of both the Westwood Artists and the Norwood Art Association. She has shown her work at the Norwood Fine Artist Gallery and Studio. She has been painting seriously for over ten years, mainly in oils, although in the past year she has branched out to work also in pastels. Some of the pieces that will be shown have been awarded first and second place and Best of Show in local art shows.
“I want to paint moments that stand out for me, that make me catch my breath," explains Obey. "I want to share that feeling with others using my art. Everywhere I look, I feel there is a painting waiting for me to create.” Maureen has studied with Edwina Caci, Dianne Panarelli Miller, Jonathan Fairbanks and Jeanne Rosier Smith.
"Through My Eyes" will be on display at the Westwood Library from May 1 to May 31. For hours and further information, visit www.westwoodlibrary.org.
