With rain in the forecast but holding off until the afternoon, a sizable croud turned out to the Epiphany Parish of Walpole’s annual Village Fair on June 11.
The event began early at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast. At 8:45, the annual road race and fun run through Walpole kicked off.
After the race, those who attended enjoyed a number of activities in front of the Epiphany Parish church in Walpole center. Many kids enjoyed a “Secret Spy Treasure Hunt” through the church property, and the parish’s famous BBQ chicken and strawberry shortcake was on sale.
A number of attractions were also set up for kids and families, including various games, a bouncy house, and more. Westwood Police Officer Pillai and his K-9 partner Duke were on hand with Walpole Police officer Matt Crown to showcase a police K-9 in action for the crowd as well.
Funds raised through the Village Fair are used to help support the church’s various community outreach programs.
