It’s been a wild ride for the Dover-Sherborn boys basketball team this 2018-2019 season, and on Saturday in Worcester, the Raiders put together a banner win with a 50-36 victory over No. 1 Hudson in the Division III Central finals.

The thing that has made this DS team extremely special this season is that is has not been just one guy leading them. On any given night, seniors John Muckstadt, Brett Stark, Camron Raycroft, junior Kirby Ryan, and sophomore Evan Skeary have all stepped up and contributed meaningfully.

On Saturday in Worcester, it was Stark’s turn to lead the Raiders, scoring a game-high 19 points (11 in the third quarter). John Muckstadt and Evan Skeary each added nine points for the Raiders in the winning effort.

“It feels so amazing to win a Central Mass title with this team,” said Muckstadt following the win. “We have worked so hard and have had great energy these past couple of weeks.”

As a senior, Muckstadt says the title is even more special, given that it is his last go before he sets off to play soccer in college at Colgate. However, the senior captain also says that he and his teammates want more, and are not just satisfied with the sectional crown.

“Being a senior, it makes it even more sweet since this is our last chance to make a name for ourselves,” said Muckstadt. “We are not done yet, though. We are hungry for the state title.”
