Westwood hosted its second annual Holiday Walkabout. This annual event invited Westwood residents to explore what local artists have created all year and possibly purchase some gifts. Three local organizations turned their spaces into holiday marketplaces.
First Baptist Church hosted its Holly Fair. They welcomed local artists to sell homemade goods such as jewelry and decorated containers. Baked goods were also offered, made with love by local chefs for people to enjoy as they walked between each location. First Baptist offered an affordable attic treasures sale filled with items donated by church members, giving everyone a chance to find holiday gifts.
The Fisher School hosted local artists, in the historic one-room schoolhouse. Local artisans showed off everything from origami earrings to knitted baby kits. Pottery makers showed off vases and plates, and photographers displayed snapshots of Westwood and the surrounding eras. Shoppers loved getting to meet the creators of the art and talking about what they make themselves. The Fisher School was part of the Westwood Artists December Marketplace.
First Parish Church held its annual Christmas Fair, welcoming in visitors to see their holiday wares. Local artists were offering ornaments, jewelry, baked goods and so much more. There was also a silent auction where people could bid on items such as a new air frier, beach activity kits, family activity baskets and much more. Handmade wreaths were being created and sold in the barn.
Each participating location offered something new, so there was sure to be something for everyone. This was a great way to explore new places in town and learn about local artists. The Westwood Holiday Walkabout is a great tradition for everyone involved and is beloved throughout the town.

With each location within walking distance from each other, this made for a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon while seeing what Westwood makers have been up to all year. This family-friendly tradition is a great way to get ahead of holiday shopping and explore Westwood.
