The Westwood Cub Scouts will hold its annual Townwide Pinewood Derby on Saturday, March 12 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
All events will be held in the Downey School Cafeteria. Weigh-in will be held on Friday night beginning at 8:00 p.m. Cars will be sequestered after weigh-in and judged by a panel for design awards. Siblings and dads may participate in the races as well.
Races are on Saturday and will be held by Den level. Siblings are welcome to race but will not be eligible for prizes.
A number of awards will be presented to scouts at each den level, including Best Design, Best Theme Car, Best Paint Job and Fastest Car.
The Tiger race will run from 9 a.m.-9:45 a.m. The Wolf race will run from 9:45 a.m.-10:30 a.m. The Bears race will run from 10:30 a.m.-11:15 a.m., the Webelos will race from 11:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m., and the finals will take place from 12 p.m.-1 p.m.
