The Early Childhood Council's Mission is to serve as a resource and forum to families and providers of early childhood education in the Westwood community. The Early Childhood Council acts in an advisory capacity to the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Program which offers parent education workshops, parent/child early learning playgroups, and special events to help support parents as their child’s first teacher. All programs are free to Westwood residents and made possible by the fundraising efforts of the Early Childhood Council.
The Council is comprised of early educators, parents of young children, program staff from town departments, and representatives of many agencies that serve families. Council meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month at the Westwood Public Library and are open to all.
