Annual book sale at the WPL

On Saturday, June 10, the Friends of the Westwood Public Library held a fun book sale on the second floor of the main library. Friendly volunteers greeted shoppers and helped them to find books in their areas of interest. Children’s books were grouped by grade level and arranged on the top of the regular library shelves. Adult fiction and nonfiction books were in a separate room, neatly organized into fiction, history, cooking, business, and many other sections. Everything was organized and easy to find, and prices were easy on the wallet too!

Adults and children perused the books for sale and walked excitedly among the shelves, carrying their favorites. Board members Joan Lehman, Mary Joyce, and Maria Ryan helped shoppers find books and answered questions. Volunteers Nancy Lynch, Leslie McGowan, and Pat Keyo smilingly checked out excited shoppers.

The Friends of the Westwood Library is a not-for-profit volunteer fundraising and outreach organization that works to enhance everyone's experience at the Westwood Public Library. The Friends underwrite a variety of library programs, including author visits, adult and children's programing, and museum passes, and helps the library with needs outside its regular operating budget.

If you’d like to help the Friends achieve their goal of enhancing the library experience in Westwood, they currently welcome donations of most gently used books. Please drop off your donations in the vestibule of the main library.

The Friends are grateful for your donations, but please do consult the following list of what the Friends cannot accept, as you pack up your used books:
