The annual spring social of Postcomers, at the Wellesley College Club on May 15, brightened a showery day with some women festooned in flowery outfits and wide-brimmed decorated hats. A grand buffet luncheon was served and a group of five fine musicians from Wellesley High School played music from Mozart to modern for the fifty guests.
Luncheon and Speakers chairperson, Pamela Grifnaffini, arranged the afternoon festivities, assisted by members Barbara Bergstrom, Ursula Riblet, Jaquie DeMasi, Jo DeCristofaro, and Pat Dacey. Pamela welcomed all to the party and announced the players, three violinsts, a viola player, and a cellist, who introduced themselves. President Marsha Wellburn followed with a story of how she acquired her festive pearl-decorated chapeau in support of a charitable cause. Another speaker, Postcomer member Charlotte Trubiani, extended an invitation to all to attend a party at her Marshfield home this summer. In September, there will be a kickoff party that provides an opportunity to sign up for activities for the next Postcomers season.
Postcomers' Club has been welcoming newcomers into their organization since 1963.
A variety of activities are offered for women who enjoy getting together in good company for book discussions, bridge, crafts, movies, luncheons with speakers and entertainment, and trips.
