While seniors were home for Thanksgiving break, Needham Bank recognized the Wellesley girls golf team’s achievement of winning the state championship by presenting jackets to the team at a presentation in the school’s atrium. The entire team was in attendance, along with coach Ken Bateman, Needham Bank’s Wellesley Branch Manager, Stephen Walls, and the Bank’s President, CEO, and Wellesley resident, Joe Campanelli.
“The golf team demonstrated a tremendous amount of hard work on the course during their season,” remarked Joe Campanelli. “As a member of the Wellesley community, I’m very proud of the accomplishments these girls have achieved and I was both personally and professionally delighted to attend and congratulate each of them in person.”
Wellesley Girls Golf won the state championship title on June 14 by two strokes over Notre Dame Academy of Hingham.
“We are very appreciative of Needham Bank for their commitment to partnering with the Wellesley schools and for going above and beyond to celebrate the team’s victory,” commented Ken Bateman, the Wellesley girls golf coach. “It was a great reason to get the entire championship team back together since many of them have gone off to their freshman year of college.”
