The Annual Bird Park Ice Cream Festival was held this year on July 15th. Presented by the Trustees and Friends of Bird Park, this event was fun for the whole family. As the annual festival was held on a day with a high of 86 degrees, there was no better way to cool down than with ice cream.
The festival brought dozens of families and dogs to Bird Park to celebrate. Ice cream and pizza were sold during the festival with four different ice cream flavors served. Various toppings were available to choose from, which were included in the price of each ice cream, to jazz up the flavors. The variety allowed families to make their ice cream sundaes their very own.
Besides the frozen treats, Bird Park provided ample activities and opportunities for families to make the most of their night. There was a DJ playing music and taking audience requests. Families enjoyed all their favorite tunes throughout the night.
Another cool sight to see was the robot frisbee from the Walpole Robotics team. The robotics team showed off their t-shirt cannon by launching shirts into the crowd. This delighted those lucky enough to catch one.
The Trustees set up a temporary tattoo station at the festival, which was a hit, as attendees dressed themselves in tattoos after enjoying their sweet treats. A variety of games were set up in the grass as well, giving everyone an excuse to play and enjoy the day in the sun.
Bird Park offered a perfect venue for the festival, as there was enough shade for everyone who needed a break from the heat.
The festival began at 3pm and ran until 7pm, providing the perfect opportunity to enjoy the warm summer evening. The Trustees and Friends of Bird Park are already looking forward to next year's festival, as are all of the ice cream enjoyers in Walpole.
