The Walpole Public Library was turned into an out-of-this-world destination as the library hosted a “Star Wars Symposium” event last Saturday.

The event featured a number of Star Wars-themed activities. The library had a display showcasing its extensive collection of Star Wars-related novels and films that are available to check out from the library.

Star Wars fans had the opportunity to test out their knowledge of the Star Wars universe in a trivia contest. A presentation on the history of the Star Wars was also shown, along with Star Wars popular culture videos and a game of “Name that Character,” which challenged fans to guess the names of various Star Wars characters.

Many attendees from children to adults chose to dress up for the occasion, and arrived decked out in Star Wars attire. A costume contest was held and awarded the best-dressed fans in the audience. From Stormtroopers to Jedis, many of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars universe were well-represented in the costume contest.

The event was organized and hosted by Peter Struzziero, a librarian from Belmont who has hosted Star Wars events at libraries across the state.
