Rev. Phil Michaels of Portland, Indiana, has been named pastor of South Walpole United Methodist Church.
A native of Howell Michigan, Rev. Michaels is a co-founder of Via Illuminate, a non-profit ministry focused on “The way of the least of these” in Peru, Indiana, and was the pastor of Illuminate Peru Church of the Nazarene, also in Peru, Indiana. He has also served as a staff pastor at First Christian Church of Peru, and in several Churches of the Nazarene throughout the country.
Rev. Michaels is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene and holds a Master of Arts in Missional Leadership and a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministries and Spiritual Formation from Northwest Nazarene University, Nampa, Idaho. He also received a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry from Nazarene Bible College, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
